Curacao International Film Festival 2025

​Experience the 11th Curaçao International Film Festival (CIFF) from April 9 to 13, 2025, at The Movies Otrobanda. This year’s festival features a diverse lineup of films and special segments:​

Sujo: Mexico’s official Oscar submission and the big winner at the 2024 Morelia International Film Festival, praised as “meticulously crafted and darkly poetic.

Buscando un Burro: A Venezuelan tragicomedy short about two firefighters who welcome a donkey as president, leading to unexpected consequences. ​
Curacao Chronicle

Isidel 1 Documentary: A gripping film about the mysterious disappearance of the shuttle boat Isidel 1 between Bonaire and Curaçao.

Kombiná: A film exploring the work of renowned architect Lyongo Juliana, previously acclaimed in the Netherlands.

The festival also introduces the ‘Lost & Found’ segment, reviving lost local and international art, including films, TV clips, paintings, and photos. In collaboration with Landhuis Bloemhof, a competition invites local painters to reinterpret a missing Rembrandt panel depicting the sense of taste. The winning artist will be featured in a short documentary screened during CIFF 2025.

Additionally, the Caribbean Focus section returns, showcasing a curated selection from a record-breaking 26 entries, highlighting the growth of the Caribbean’s vibrant film industry. ​
