Trafassi, founded in 1981 by Edgar Burgos, is a Surinamese-Dutch band that rose to fame with their catchy hit “Wasmachine” from 1985. Their unique blend of Caribbean music styles such as kaseko, merengue, and salsa, combined with humorous lyrics in Sranan Tongo, Dutch, and English, creates a festive atmosphere that connects generations. What makes Trafassi so special is their ability to merge diverse musical influences into a recognizable and energetic sound beloved both in the Netherlands and abroad.
