Prime Spot at the Harbor

Nestled in the heart of Willemstad, Curacao, Santa Anna offers a remarkable dining experience with its picturesque harbor view and a menu that highlights its Chilean heritage. As one of the newest culinary gems on the island, it has quickly gained recognition for its seafood dishes. The family-run establishment brings a fusion of European and South American influences, especially Chilean flavors, which can be found throughout their menu, creating a unique dining experience.

The restaurant’s location at the iconic Handelskade, Curacao’s most photographed spot, is truly unbeatable. It offers one of the best views of Willemstad, overlooking Anna Bay. Whether you choose to sit at one of the sidewalk tables or enjoy the relaxed ambiance on the open semi indoor terrace, you’re in for a treat. The interior is tastefully decorated with a sea-life theme, and the comfortable armchairs create a warm and inviting atmosphere. There's also a stylish cocktail bar where you can unwind while enjoying the view.

As for the food, it doesn’t disappoint. Santa Anna’s fish specialties are top-notch, offering everything from grilled fish to ceviche, each prepared with a refreshing and creative twist. But the menu doesn’t stop there — it incorporates a variety of choices, including influences from South American cuisine, making it an ideal spot for diverse tastes. Besides seafood the menu also offers some non-seafood options. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied without feeling overstuffed. We ordered as starters Tres Empanadas which were exquisite. As main dishes we tried the Seafood Lasagna and Grilled Salmon with polenta and quinoa-risotto as side dishes. We were delighted with the rich tastes and had more than enough to eat, leaving little room for dessert. That said, we couldn’t resist sharing the “Not a Brownie” cake — a decadent dessert that was, in fact, a brownie from another universe. Rich, chocolatey, and gluten free, it’s a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth.

The cocktails, recommended by Guido the manager, were another highlight. From tropical blends to classic concoctions, each drink was expertly crafted and enhanced the overall dining experience. It’s evident that great care is taken with every detail here, from the drinks to the food. The service was friendly and attentive, with staff who made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The atmosphere was further enlivened by live music, with a talented guitarist and singer performing ballads, creating a perfect background to the evening.

What sets Santa Anna apart, aside from its impeccable location and delightful menu, is its value. Prices here are very reasonable, especially when compared to other restaurants of a similar caliber on the island. This makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking for high-quality seafood without breaking the bank. You could combine a visit to Santa Anna when wandering in Punda. After exploring Willemstad it's a great place to enjoy the golden hour. Especially during "Punda Vibes" the city comes a-life at night.

Overall, Santa Anna is a standout in Curacao’s restaurant scene. With its unbeatable view, top-notch seafood, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service, it’s easy to see why it’s becoming a favorite among both locals and visitors. This could very well be the best seafood restaurant on the island!
