Andruw Jones, affectionately known as “The Kid from Curaçao,” has once again made history. In 2026, the legendary center fielder received baseball’s highest honor by being elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, becoming one of the greatest players connected to Curaçao to receive this prestigious recognition. Throughout his remarkable 17 year Major League Baseball career, Jones played for the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees. He retired from professional baseball after building an extraordinary legacy with 434 career home runs, five All Star selections and 10 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, establishing himself as one of the greatest defensive center fielders in baseball history.
