In a historic political shift, the Movementu Futuro Kòrsou (MFK) party secured an absolute majority in Curaçao's parliamentary elections held on March 21, 2025. This unprecedented victory grants MFK 13 out of 21 seats, enabling them to govern without forming a coalition—a first in the island's political history.

Founded on July 9, 2010, Movementu Futuro Kòrsou (MFK) has established itself as a pivotal force in Curaçao's political arena. The party advocates for Curaçao autonomism, emphasizing greater self-governance and economic independence within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. MFK's platform focuses on strengthening national identity, promoting sustainable economic growth, and enhancing social welfare programs to improve the quality of life for all citizens.

The Christian Democratic PNP, MFK's former coalition partner, maintained its four seats, while the liberal PAR's representation was halved from four to two seats. Voter turnout decreased to 68% from 74% in the previous election. The CARICOM Election Observation Mission reported that the elections were conducted smoothly and reflected the will of the people. With a four-year mandate free from coalition constraints, MFK now has the opportunity to fully implement its vision for Curaçao's future.
