Construction work for the Pyromont Hotel, which is being built in the Pietermaai district, started at the beginning of this year. It will be a grand hotel on the waterfront of Pietermaai. The symbolic starting ceremony was planned this week in the presence of Minister Pik Pisan and Minister Charles Cooper. The developer Pen Resort B.V. will invest $87 million in the construction and furnishing of the hotel. The Hotel will fall under the Autograph Collection Hotels Flag, a special class of Hotels by Marriott Bonvoy. The hotel is scheduled to open in the second half of 2025. The developers have been preparing for construction for years. So yesterday there was an official ceremony with invited guests. The Hotel designed by Coriscan Architect Bartholomé Lyon will have a Neoclassical style and will be all-inclusive.
The Hotel will consist of more than 300 luxurious rooms including historic luxury suites. The two historic buildings in the yard will be integrated in the development. These will be laid out in two historic iconic buildings that will be completely restored. Among the locals these are called Cerro Bonito and Kas de Pueblo. The complex will also include a number of restaurants and bars, a ballroom, two swimming pools, a fitness center and a water sports centre. A long boardwalk will be built on the coastline and a stretch of beach will be constructed. The development and operation of the Hotel will boost our local economy. Construction requires at least 200 workers. The management will also attract more then 300 employees.
